Vintage 1971 Fender Competition Blue Mustang Electric Guitar w/ Original Case! - $2,280 - (Harvest, AL)

Up for sale is this vintage 1973 Fender Competition Mustang electric guitar. This guitar is the more sought-after and less often seen Competition Blue. This instrument is in absolute wonderful condition and is the nicest one that we have ever had here at the shop. The guitar shows light wear, including some small dings and scratches. The only issue that we can find with this instrument is that the original pickguard has shrunk and cracked in one spot. When the pickguard shrunk, it took some finish along the edges of the pickguard with it. This can be seen in the pictures. The original blue finish is bright and unfaded. There are some dings and scratches on the back of the guitar, but nothing major at all. It's not mint, but it's very, VERY clean. Even the tuner buttons are still bright white! The original bridge cover and tremolo arm are included. The frets show only the lightest wear and still have most of their life left in them. This guitar has just been completely cleaned up and set up by our tech. It was restrung and polished, the electronics were sprayed out, and the fretboard was oiled. The guitar plays great with comfortable, low action. The original Victoria hardshell case is included and is also in great condition. It shows some minor wear from protecting the guitar over the years. All of the latches and hinges are all there and function as they should.
