Cypress is lightweight, rot resistant, phenol free, and does not need painting. Honey bees process lots of water in the honey business.The unpainted wood helps to wick inner moisture to the outside. The wood is number 2 or higher. Cypress is naturally curly with lots of swirls and variation in the golden wood grain. Cypress is ideal for beekeeping because it naturally wicks moisture and is very, very slow to decompose. It is phenol (plant toxin) free, and does not need to be painted or treated. THE ITEM is 8-frame size and includes TWO Budget grade 9 5\8 CYPRESS HIVE BROOD BOXES AND TWO 6 5\8 HONEY SUPERS. THE 6 5\8 BOXES CALLED MEDIUM OR ILLINOIS DEPTH HOLDS AROUND 40 LBS OF HONEY per box when full. ALSO INCLUDED is Budget Grade HONEY SHALLOWS 5 5/8". These boxes hold 8-frames each and made to Langstroth specifications. Nail holes are pre-drilled, and Galvanized box nails are included. The boxes are made to industry standard 13 3/4 x 19 7\8 inches and are compatible with all brands of Langstroth hives. Frames, Lid, and bottom board are not included.
