NGC 1966 Kennedy half dollar double-denomination struck on a Washington quarter. The coin shows faint details from the underlying quarter strike, and also the coin has a reeded edge from the quarter. This is a very rare error, with only a few examples known of Kennedy halves on struck quarters. In fact, this is the first example we have ever had in stock. The error occurred when a struck Washington quarter was fed into a press striking Kennedy half dollars, and was then struck, resulting in a coin with the designs of both a Kennedy half and a Washington quarter. The pressure of the strike obliterated most of the quarter's design, but there are traces remaining, and also the coin has a reeded edge from the quarter.
