1870's Unique Purple Pen & Ink Drawing Autograph Album Belonging to Minnie Hurd - $125 - (Somerville, MA)

A sweet 1870's autograph album belonging to Minnie Hurd who lived in East Randolph New York. As noted on the first page. Minnie had lots of friends and family who wrote notations in her album, 41 of the fifty pages are filled. One of the special features in Minnie's album is the beautiful pen and ink drawing, 'The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword', by O.M.J. The artist's signature, O M Jefferds, is on the opposite page of the drawing. Although the photos show the ink as blue in tone it is purple ink which is quite unique, and there are a few lithograph die cuts. There are many locations listed in the album, East Randolph, Randolph, Port Henry, Saratoga Spa, Salamanca, Jamestown, East Rand, and Sheridan, all in New York state. Some of the names include; Hurd, Wright, Field Holt, Parsons, White, Jolles Jefferds, Merrill, March, Kendall, Terry, Earls, Shean, Edwards, Dow, Stewart, Willard, Palmer, Pease, Southwick and Boyington.
