Offered is a Modernist NORA S. UNWIN Original Watercolor Collage "Land of Counterpane." Double matted and framed, the image (mat opening) is approximately 13 3/4 x 18 1/4" and the outer dimension of the frame is about 22 x 26 1/2" On verso label:"Land of Counterpane"by Nora Unwinwatercolor and collageshown at Concord [New Hampshire] 1966Value (1966) $175.00 On verso handwritten:Land of Counterpane watercolor/collageNora S. Unwin There is some rippling to the paper and matting treatment and what appear to be water spots on the top right of the wood frame, also (please see photos for the condition). This watercolor mixed media collage was done by English/American artist Nora Spicer Unwin (1907-1982). Unwin was born in England, moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area, and also lived in Peterborough, New Hampshire where this painting was purchased by collectors in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Questions are welcome.
