The full title of this 1899 dictionary is:  The Modern Webster Pronouncing and Defining Dictionary of the English Language Containing all Words sanctioned by good authority, excluding only such as re rare, purely technical or obsolete; together with a  collection of words, Phrases, Maxims, and Mottoes from classical and modern Foreign Languages --Abbreviations in Common Use, and Instructions in Proofreading. 60,000 Word and Definitions ( many recent words not found in large Dictionaries. By Edward Thos. Roe 250th Thousand --432 pages LARGE NEW TYPE   Chicago Laird & Lee Publishers. There are pictures of the "Dictionary Makers of the World" inside the front cover.  Please see pictures. As you can see, the front and back covers are weak, but still attached. Book can still stand up by itself. The only mark I can find is a name inside the front cover and a pencil mark inside the back cover.  Pages are all there. 432 pages. There a tabs at the beginning of each letter. All tabs seem to be there. This is a small book 5 1/2" x 3 3/4."  It is about 1" thick.  You could almost carry it in your pocket. I have tried to show any defects in the pictures.  There does not appear any ripped or torn pages.  I would rate this book fair to good considering it's age. You can certainly have fun reading some of the words and definitions from 1899.  I m not a dealer, just a retired teacher who needs to downsize.  I have accumulated so many books over the years.
