MEDICAL ARTICULATING NICKEL CHROME CAST IRON FLOOR LAMP INDUSTRIAL MACHINE AGE OPERAY 1920's DESIGN: A sturdy and sophisticated early Machine Age Articulating Industrial Medical Floor Lamp design manufactured by "U.S. Hospital Supply Co. Davenport, IA" circa 1920's. The lamp articulate via 2 joints that allow for endless arrangements of height, length, angle and extensions. Extremely heavy duty (weighs over 25 lbs!) and manufactured of Nickel/Chrome plate, Brass, Steel and burly Cast Iron throughout, all extremely well engineered and machined. The articulating arm mechanism is fixed to a telescoping main support rod footed by a burly steering wheel shaped solid cast iron weighted caster footed base for complete stability with easy mobility. CONDITION: This impressive lamp is in exceptional original condition, completely intact, extra clean and fully functional. Light finish wear to the original Black wrinkle finish with no damage or repair issues to any operating parts. The huge polished Copper /Brass funnel shaped shade is in excellent shape with just a few faint pressure dents. The Chrome/Nickel plated parts are all super clean with light signs of surface wear and age patina. Original socket, cord and inline switch has been inspected and appears clean and safe. This outstanding lamp was probably never put to any long term use or exposure, the overall clean condition and lack of heavy wear evidence suggests that it was likely stored for most of the last 95+ years...it doesn't get much better! DIMENSIONS: This superb example of early Industrial Medical lighting can be adjusted from 36"-60" tall with an overall width of 36", the shade is 11" diameter…filament bulb is NOT included. This is LARGE & HEAVY (25 lbs!) and will be partially dissassembled and packaged in two shipments...hence the hefty shipping $$.
