Vintage Danish Handcraft Guild Cross-Stitch Diary for 1962 (Haandarbejdets Fremme Arets Korssting) in the English edition containing 12 counted cross-stitch patterns designed by Gerda Bengtsson. It's a spiral bound diary with a different design for each month shown in color with a black and white chart for the design. Designs shown in the booklet may be used for doilies measuring approximately 5.5" (14cm) square. Printed in Denmark and distributed by H. George Caspari in the United States. Calendar is entirely in English. This was the third year that the Danish Handcraft Guild published a cross-stitch calendar. The designs focus on seasonal changes in the Danish countryside by Bengtsson also incorporated episodes from Danish social life characteristic of town and country. Condition: Good vintage condition. Some writing in pencil on a few calendar pages, on a blank chart at the back and on the thread pages in back. See photos for examples of the writing, most of which pertains to cross-stitch. Some edgewear and one small crease on back near spiral binding at top. In the back of the diary is a diagram of stitches and a section of Materials and Working Instructions. Measures 6.25" (16cm) x nearly 6" (15.2cm), so this is a petite calendar.
