This set is large enough to make a CLASSICAL SIZE guitar. Indian Rosewood has long been the standard wood used for high end factory and custom built instruments. I purchased this particular set in 1996 from a well known supplier. It was their premium wood at that time. The back and side plates are well matched for color and grain. The wood has a great purple/maroon color and very straight grain. Both the back and the sides are quartersawn. Wood Measurements Back Plates - 7 3/4" X 20 7/8" X .200" - Quarter Sawn Side Plates - 4 3/8" X 31 1/2" X .235" - Quarter Sawn This set was not wetted before photographing. Indian Rosewood is a very stable wood for building guitars. It bends nicely. Finishing usually requires grain filling before final protective coats. Finishes well and brings out nice depth in the wood grain. I think you will find this Indian Rosewood Tonewood set a cut above what is now being offered by many suppliers in today's market.
