Up for auction is a Scarce, Original 1959 Senior High School yearbook of political activist and revolutionary who, along with Bobby Seale, co-founded the Black Panther Party in 1966, Huey P. Newton. Newton’s photo can be found on the senior portrait pages. Yearbook contains photographs of faculty and students along with illustrations [with a photo of Korla Pandit performing among the photos of students]. Bound in off-white cloth binding with illustration and title on front cover. Very good condition with some tanning to pages and numerous signatures and inscriptions throughout volume; the covers have a protective clear glassine with, what appears to be, clear tape on the front and reverse of the volume – it appears that these were placed on the yearbooks when published, to avoid moisture damage. Overall, a nice and uncommon Huey Newton pre-Black Panthers item.
