Small pocket religious statue and case. Carried by religious soldiers in a pocket to provide spiritual comfort as they headed into battle. As seen in Lord’s Civil War Collector’s Encyclopedia Vol. II p. 157. This example measures just about an inch and has a brass case only slightly larger. Brass case. Wonderful little example for display with a soldiers personal items. St. Rita is the patron saint of sterility, abuse victims, loneliness, marriage difficulties, parenthood, widows, the sick, bodily ills, and wounds.
