Original MENZENHAUER SCHMIDT No. 2 1/2 Guitar Zither incl all strings and key - $75 - (Benton, KY)

Patented May 29,1894 This nice old guitar zither has a paper label under the strings that reads"Original Menzenhauer Guitar Zither Menzenhauer & Schmidt Berlin". It appears to be in good condition, and I believe all the strings are intact, but I know nothing about this instrument, so please ask questions and see all photos for details. It also has some paint loss on the bottom right part and some imperfections across the bottom. The graphics, otherwise, are very nice. The back seems solid. Our grandson tuned it when he was here and it has a beautiful sound. Will come with a key that will be used for tuning. There is a crack on the back but it didn't keep it from tuning and sounding beautiful. There is some wear where the inside label is on the bottom.
