Vintage African American playpal doll by Allied Eastern - $190 - (Locust Grove, GA)
Vintage 1960's - Allied Eastern was a big name along with Ideal. This lovely face has no rubs and lips are flawless. Clear amber eyes open and close and have no missing lashes. One eye looks darker because of the lighting, but they are both the same awesome color. Her hair is in it's original natural set with no cut, and no missing plugs. The marking on the back of her neck is AE 3651 and the number 27 below that. She is marked AE at the top of her little hips (there is a pic, but don't know if the camera picked it up). She has no splits, cracks or rubs except the tiny one on her tummy (see pic), and her skin tone is even throughout. Her left heel has a small indentation, but not broken thru. She is 35" tall and stands on her own. She is wearing new white unders with pink flowers and her child's sandals have the same pink and lavender flowers that her dress does. This doll has been lovingly kept in my collection for a long time, but moving to a smaller place requires downsizing my wonderful collection. A rare find, doll and dress are totally clean, free of odor, and from a smoke free home.
