This bronze Lantaka was brought to the US by a tourist in the early 1950's from Malay Archipelago. These were cast by the Portuguese and used as money to trade for spices. The inhabitants from these islands used them to ward off pirates trying to steal their cargo. This bronze Lantaka is about 32 inches long with about a 1 inch bore and weighs 38 lbs. The base weighs 21 lbs. and is 6 inches by 7 inches and is made of some type of stone. The previous owner used to fire it on the 4th of July and scare the H--- out of his neighbors! This item needs to be shipped in two packages.
