Authentic Japanese sword w/ NBTHK judgement paper: Bungo Takada wakizashi - $2,700 - (State College, PA)
A late Muromachi period (c. 1558 - 1570) Japanese samurai Wakizashi sword attributed to the famous BUNGO TAKADA (????) smiths. This sword comes with the official NBTHK judgement paper certifying its authenticity. This special collector's blade is rated by NBTHK as Hozon (Worthy of Preservation). This sword is in very good polish and excellent overall condition. The blade remains in robust shape, and its Suguha hamon and steel grains are clearly visible. There are only a couple of minor kizu (one small fukure and one light oxidation patch) detectable, and the blade is guaranteed against hagire or any major flaws. The sword is in in Shirasaya mountings. Cutting edge length is 52.7cm (20.76 inches). The blade weighs 750g (1.65 lbs) This blade is intended for serious collectors only.
