ANTIQUE 1800'S AMBROTYPE THERMOPLASTIC & WOODEN CASE 1/6TH 1/9TH PLATE? TINTYPE - $200 - (Venice, FL)
PLEASE VIEW ALL (12) PICTURES POSTED TO THE LISTING.This listing is for an Antique 1800's lot of Ambrotype photos in Union thermoplastic / daguerrotype case and wooden case.There are also tintype photos.All of these are from the mid 1800's. I am unsure whether they are 1/6th plate, or 1/9th plate, or even 1/4th plate, so I will put in the measurements of the cases for you to determine.The 1st is an Ambrotype photo of a pretty young woman with books that may appear to be a student, or graduate.This Ambrotype photo is in a Union thermoplastic / daguerreotype case.The case is in amazing condition with perfect hinges.It has the glass front with gold frame under the glass.To the left is a blue velvet with a crest?.The velvet has some fading to the top and left side.Under the photo glass is the maker of the thermoplastic / daguerrotype case.Please see photo number 5 for the maker of this Union case.The case measures 3 3/4" high, 3 1/4" across, and approx. 3/4" thick.The 2nd is an Ambrotype photo of a pretty young woman all dressed up in her Sunday best.This Ambrotype photo is in a wooden case.The case has color rubbing to the front and back.This case has no hinges and it held together the same way that the antique book bindings are done.It has the original hook latch to keep it closed.The inside Ambrotype is under glass with the gold framing also under glass.The wood framing around the glass is missing the small strip of wood down the left side of the frame.It closes perfectly and latches perfectly.To the left is red velvet with a pattern all around.It has some light fading to the red color.The case measures 2 7/8" high, 2 3/8" across, and 5/8" thick.Lastly, there are (2) tintype photos from the mid 1800's.(1) is of (2) young ladies all dressed up for an event, or gathering.(1) is of a very scary looking older woman with crossed eyes and a man's hat on the table next to her.(1) measures 3 3/8" high, and 2 1/4" across.The other measures 3 1/4" high, and 2 3/8" across.Th…
