RIP CASWELL, VERY RARE SOLID BRONZE CHESS SET, FIGURES, SAFARI ANIMALS, 9/35 - $6,000 - (Portland, OR)

This beautiful chess set was created by a very well known West Coast artist Rip Caswell and cast in very heavy solid bronze with silver and reddish brown patinas. This "African Safari Animals" set is number 9 out of 35 limited edition and is totally sold out and not reproduced. It is pristine. I took pictures with tape measure in the background to show the sizes of the chessmen as well as the board. The board squares measure 2 1/4 inches.All chessmen are signed by Rip Caswell either at the base or the back of some animals, as shown in the close up pictures. The set number of limited production is engraved on the base of the red Lion which represents the king.(see picture).
