The Capstan and both take up reels turn when going through Play / Fast Forward & Rewind etc. I do not have an 8-Track tape to properly test the 8-Track Player / Recorder. This unit is tested only to the extent of Powering it up and checking through the buttons. Unit shows some scuffs and scratches from normal use. Overall in good cosmetic condition.
