The book on the, History of England is very interesting. King James told the 54 translators in 1604, " No Church, No King," No pressure! Church is one of many words that has been twisted, and squeezed for the sake of Power. Many in the Denominations, Baptist, Church of Christ, etc. believe the Elders, or Deacons are to rule. If we could go back to 62A.D. & ran into some Christians, and. asked them where are the, (Elders / Deacons) that rule, they would reply, " Do you mean the older ones we follow by example?" So if our English word, " Church" doesn't translate the Greek word Ekklesia, what is the original translation of Matt. 16:18." I will build my group of called out ones." When Paul wrote letters he was addressing believers in different geographical locations, not Churches.
