Standing at an impressive 17.5 inches this very large silver golf trophy was for an Elks Lodge Tournament played in the 1920's and won by two different players as seen on the front. The building that housed this Lodge is significant. This was found on the internet:The Aurora Elks Lodge No. 705 is a Mayan style building on Stolp Island in Aurora, Illinois. It is included in the Stolp Island Historic District. The building was built in 1926 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The trophy is heavily engraved, The Elk's head is very detailed. It has wonderful green enamel accents in the bunting. It has 2 wonderfully detailed golf clubs along the sides. It was made by WALLACEBROS CO, WALLINGFORD, CONN, marked V520 The Trophy is engraved with the following; an Elks head, underneath B.P.O.E. (for: Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) 705 (Lodge in Aurora, Illinois) ELKS GOLF TROPHY, HANDICAP The names of 2 winners: ELLERY E.
