Antique 1890s Silk Floss Holder / 30+ Roman Floss Silk Skeins / Metalic Threads - $60 - (Grand Marsh, WI)
I am selling a 31" X 12" Silk Thread Holder from the late 1800s. There are several skeins of silk thread in a number of sections of the Thread holder. It is in fragile condition as silk does not age well. Also in this sale are 1894-1898 The Brainerd & Armstrong Co's Roman Floss Skein Holders for silk threads. (All in the paper skein holders and assorted colors including:Roman Floss: The Brainerd & Armstrong Co's Asiatic Dyes Roman Floss Wash Embroidery Silks with Directions For Using The New Skein Holder Pat. Sept. 10, 1895. The back of each gives detailed washing instructions of the day and premiums which were available by mail order. ) At least 30 or more of these have different colored silk threads - unused. Metallic thread is wrapped around a calling card of "Mrs. Clara Rogers - Lace Maker" plus several other opened skeins of metallic thread. There are at least 17 skeins of unopened DMC thread which I think is cotton. Various colors of silk threads have been opened and need to be untangled and wound onto paper. Also included is one skein of F. W. Woolworth Co. variegated brown (Woolco) mending plait "made from finer Botany Wool." The purchaser of this antique package of embroidery threads will be delighted with all of the antique and vintage items in this listing! Because of the fragile condition of the silk thread holder, I will package these items carefully but cannot guarantee the condition of the holder once shipped. Great care will be given to packaging the item. For more information, please e-mail me. The item(s) is kept in a pet and smoke free home. I will mail within 24 hours (business days) of receiving cleared payment. Payment is expected within 3 days of purchase. Check out my other items!
