Garde Du Corps Du Roi Sword - $1,296 - (Wynnewood, OK)

Very rare and hard to find sword! Used by French royal troops of the household after the fall of Napoleon I. Louis XVIII restored the Bourbon Dynasty to the French throne and reorganized the French Royal Bodyguards. The hilt is silvered and has the original wire wrap remains tight and intact. Blade is probably of Solingen manufacture and bears the S&K mark that was a maker of this sword. Only few were chosen to serve in this elite unit during a controversial and tumultuous time in France and Europe during the Napoleonic wars. Great addition for a Napoleonic sword collection and very difficult to find.
