White Agate African Trade Beads Outstanding example of strand of antique large white banded agate stone beads from old tribal African trade. Ten bead strand with hand-drilled holes. Each bead is 2” or more. See photo of Fulani tribal woman, above. Agate is formed with bands of microscopic quartz crystals. It is a variety of Chalcedony. Agate is known as a grounding stone as well as a spiritual stone. Great fashion or collector's item. The necklace is in very good condition and shows wear appropriate to age.
