PICKARD CHINA ELKS BPOE STEIN, HEAVY GOLD, SIGNED COUFALL, EXCELLENT CONDITION - $225 - (Sonora, CA)
What a great color this is...sometimes magenta, sometimes purple, and sometimes almost black depending on the light. The etched gold is fabulous with a clock, the Elks BPOE logo and some wonderful scroll work at the top. It is artist signed Coufall in the etching right above the handle. The stein (or large mug) is a tall 7 inches high and four inches across the base. It is hand painted on porcelain, but because it has no manufacturer’s mark I can’t tell if it might be from Limoges, Bavaria or Austria. The condition is wonderful with no chips, cracks and just very minimal gold wear on the handle. It bears Pickard Mark 5 (1905-1910) and is the same as found on page 156 of Alan Reed’s “Encyclopedia of Pickard China” with a value of $200-225 in 1995! Shipping will be Priority Mail at the 3 lb rate to allow for adequate protection. I do combine for savings on shipping costs. Please do not ding me in Feedback for high shipping rates. I accept PayPal only. Payment is expected within three days. I ship the next business day after receipt of payment.
