Vintage 1959 The Martin MAGNA alto saxophone - $2,700 - (South Rockwood, MI)
This is a vintage 1959 The Martin "Magna" alto saxophone from a local professional woodwind player's estate. It includes matching serial # neck, neck plug, original Martin mouthpiece, and case (see images). It was purchased in 1959 directly from the Martin showroom in Elhart, IN and has only been played by the original owner on the rare occasion. It is in near Showroom pristine original condition, with no dents, dings, damage. The only thing we see to mention is slightest silver loss to palm keys and thumb hook, as well as a small skuff the the bottom end of case exterior (see close-up images). It plays beautifully and effortlessly from hi F to low Bb. The finest Martin sax we ever expect to see. As with all vintage instruments, and professional horns in particular, it will likely benefit from an instrument tech setting up to personal preferences.
