Maple 6 Drawer Chest / Dresser - $950 - (Freeville, NY)
This dresser has been in the family for the last 65 years. I'd say it was re-finished at some point in time, but not by anyone in my family. There is a set of cast iron wheels fitted to it, which I find annoying. I would take them off but that is up to the new owner. Without the wheels, it would stand about a 1/4" shy of 4 feet OA. The carcass of the chest measures 3 feet wide by 18.5" deep. The top is 3'-2" wide by 20" deep. The top three drawers were intended to lock. The middle drawer of the top 3 is missing its lock mechanism. I have no key for the locks. The pulls and escutcheons look to be of the "bat's" wing style popular in the Queen Anne period. The pulls/escutcheons appear to be made out of German silver? The body of the drawers look like chestnut. I am in no position to ship something like this, nor do I want the hassle. I will expect the winning bidder to pick this up at my residence w/in a mutually agreed upon timeline. I would be happy to talk about this in person if there is interest to do so.
