1889 The Century Dictionary An Encyclopedic Lexicon of the English Language RARE - $205 - (Kearney, NE)

This is a 6 volume set of The Century Dictionary, An Encyclopedic Lexicon of the English Language. Copyright 1889 Published by The Century Co. Also included is The Century Cyclopedia of Names. A Pronouncing and Etymoogical Dictionary of Names in Geography, Biography, Mythology, History, Ethnology, Art, Archaeology, Fiction, Etc, Etc, Etc. Copyright 1897 Published by the Century Co. Also included is The Century Atlas of the World. Copyright 1897 Published by The Century Co. The Dictionary is 6 volumes with leather binding. The bindings are all in tact and in great shape. No broken spines. There is wear on the leather corners and edges. Volume 6 has some outer paper tearing where the leather meets the hard bound outer cover. I do not see any torn pages and very, very little fading or discoloring of the pages.The Atlas has some damage to the spine of the binding. It looks like the book has come detached from the leather binding. The book is still in tact but I think if it ever fell off a shelf it would probably come apart from the leather. It is filled with very neat old maps of the world in color. I do not see any torn pages and again very little fading or discoloring.The Cyclopedia of Names has a good leather binding with some wear on the top and bottom. The sides of the book appear to be covered with a very thin fabric around the hard bound cover. This thin fabric has partially come loose from the hard cover. These book do have wear and some damage on the outer parts of the books. If you need more pictures I would be happy to send you more.
