A late 19th-century Minton majolica oyster plate with a green & brown mottled glaze, iridescent in the right light, and an embossed decoration of seashells & seaweed. Impressed MINTON mark as well as a British design registry mark for 1867, mold/shape number '1323' and production date cipher for 1871. It measures 9" in diameter. In very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs--expected fine overall glaze crazing mostly in the 6 outside wells. 3 small as-made, stilt marks to the underside.
