this is a good quality aftermarket engine to fit your 017 MS170 018 or MS180 chainsaw. this is a big bore engine for your 017 or MS170 or stock size for your 018 or MS170. Yes you can turn your 017 or MS170 into a 018 or MS180 with this engine. This will bring new life into that old worn out saw. I tried these out before listing them. I used some in customer saws, and rebuilt one of my own and tried it out. these work good. This is a 38mm bore with NIKISIL plated cylinder for many years of reliable service. This is the only way to rebuild your 017 018 MS170 or MS180. the OEM parts cost way too much to make it worth rebuilding your saw. these aftermarket parts make it worth the money and than some !!!
