Offered is a running DICKORY DICKORY DOCK MOUSE CLOCK HOROLOVAR NEW YORK, GERMAN KEY-WIND The movement is a single train, spring-driven 8 day movement that is controlled by a platform escapement. It is stamped “four (4) jewels/ unadjusted/ The Horolovar Co./ Bronxville, New York/ Made in Germany”. The mouse is attached to a cord and is pulled up the clock until it reaches 1 O'clock when it is released and drops to strike the single bell. Then it starts back up the clock again. Time is told by the tip of the mouse's nose. This is a reasonable smaller rendition of the original “Dickory Dickory Dock” clock patented in 1909. The Horolovar reissue clocks were built between 1963 and 1973 in Germany.This case is mahogony with gold colored stenciled horizontal “minute” marks and raised brass hour markers. The size is 24 3/4" high x 6 3/8" wide at its widest point x 4” deep.Included is the original winding key and a leaflet about the clock.
