1940s Rolex Watch Parts 22 Movements 10 Bubbleback Cases 21 Dials 22 Gold Crowns - $9,500 - (Newport, VA)
Offered is this vintage lot of Rolex movements and parts for restoration. They date to the 1940's. I counted a total of 22 movements, 9 of them have dials and 13 have gold crowns marked Oyster Patent. Several started to run when I was moving them. I don't think they need repair other than a good cleaning from storage and lack of use. There are an additional 21 spare dials with names such as Elegante, Lincoln, King of Wings, Firefly, Solar Aqua and Oyster Viceroy, most are scratched and show wear. Two are the unusual California dial with the top half numbers in Roman and bottom half in Arabic. There are 10 Bubbleback stainless steel cases and 3 crystals. One is a larger size. Case serial numbers are 203000 up to 280000. There are 61 extra crowns all marked. 9 of those test 18k gold with my acid as well as the 13 attached to the movements for a total of 22 gold crowns. There are 8 flywheels packaged in brittle yellowed cellophane that I did not remove. Many of the movements and faces were packaged in the same cellophane, I removed it to photograph them. A set of nine instruments to remove watch case backs. Included is everything shown in my photographs. Everything is approximate. I might be off on counting or info a bit, there is a lot here.
