Antique, Hemingsray Blue Glass Insulator# 9 Pat May,2 1893 - $15 - (Indianola, NE)

This sweet little insulator was poured with the words Hemingsray No 9 and Patent May 2, 1893. Pretty tough character to last so long given that it had a hard work life insulating rural poles in southwest Nebraska. The insulator stands 3 1/2" tall and is 2" in diameter. The center would hold a large taper candle - I believe it was used as a candle stick because there was a small amount of wax on it. I'd be happy to answer questions and thanks for looking.
