For sale, an OLD, HISTORIC OLD HOTEL (BELIEVE CLOSED THESE DAYS?) & BELIEVE RARE WITH OLD ORIGINAL ROOM KEY old hotel tag which says "DROP IN ANY MAILBOX, WE GUARANTEE POSTAGE (GREAT PICTORIAL OF U.S. MAIL BOX)" at a business called "THE BUCHANAN HOTEL #36", which was located in tiny town of CARRINGTON, NORTH DAKOTATHIS IS A VERY COLLECTIBLE OLD HOTEL TAG, AND IT HAS ITS KEY .....HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING EXONUMIA WISE FROM "CARRINGTON NORTH DAKOTA".....THIS OLD HOTEL TAG AND KEY BELIEVE USED MAYBE IN THE 1910-1925 ERAThese old Fibre tags can go way back. The original owner thought this one was from around 1920, not sure, is not dated but early style, these fiber tags can go back to WWI era often made to save metals for war effort. I do not know if this old hotel still stands in historic Carrington ND....it appears to be closed ??The old town of Carrington goes back to 1882, has a population of 2000....and is located in Foster County, not far from towns of Melville, Dover and Glenfield ND........THIS TAG LIKELY USED IN ROOM "36" OF THIS OLD HOTEL.Hotel tag / token is brown fibre, oval shaped, hotel tag about 2 1/8" x 4 3/8", and extends almost 7 1/2" long including key ,and it displays very nicely...it has a little bend or "warp" in it, but for 100 years old, not bad. (please see pictures in gallery) a great looking specimen. Has not been cleaned, natural patina. Gallery pictures should give you all the information you need.
