The Jim Thompson House is a museum in central Bangkok, Thailand, housing the art collection of American businessman and architect Jim Thompson, the museum designer and former owner. Built in 1959, the museum spans one rectangular "rai" of land (approximately half an acre or 2023.43 meters). It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand; sporting vibrant jungle foliage in the heart of the city. The unframed picture size is, 14 7/8" 17 7/8" It may look like some of the pictures are matted, but they aren't. I just laid them on matting to show the color better.This set of thirteen pictures, reproduced at about half size, from the Jim Thompson House collection, is the first of several planned publications by the JHW Thompson foundation of Thai art on exhibit in "The House on the Klong", Bankok. " The original prints on exhibit at " The House on the Klong", are recognized for their fine workmanship and coloring and because each print is surrounded by a painted frame of leaves and flowers, together with a cartouche in the upper border identifying the scene. The Thompson Foundation reproduced this art for the purpose of providing a wider knowledge of this rapidly disappearing Thai religious art. This set contains all thirteen of the pictures in their original plastic folder which also contains a detailed explanation of each picture in "The Prince Vessantara Tale: A Story of Charity".
