US COASTGUARD CUTTERS 1941-1945 LEND-LEASE AGREEMENT 10 US Cutters transferred to the Royal Navy WORLD WAR II PHOTO CARD published by Edito-Service, 1977 CATEGORY: Weapons CARD TITLE (on back): "US Coastguard Cutters:Lend-lease aid to the RN" ILLUSTRATION (as titled on back): "One of the ten cutters transferred to Britain, 1941" CARD CONDITION: Pre-owned. In very good vintage condition. Back in the late 19970s, I subscribed to the Edito-Service set of cards for my sons, now grown with children of their own. They been sitting in a closet for years! It's definitely time to let them go. Cards have a copyright date of 1977, but I have read that they were available until 1979. Those dates are certainly consistent with what I remember. Cards are approximately 4 3/4" x 4 15/16." The backs have historical information about the subject depicted on its front. The set is encyclopedic in scope and detailed and objective in its presentation. Graphic illustrations at the top right of the front of each card show into which of many possible categories the card belongs. One can quickly see if the card is devoted to such areas as "Battles-Desert," "Amphibious Operations," "Civilian Leaders and Personalities," "Prelude to War," and so on. A country is identified by its flag. I've retired after 45 years in education and now have time to dig out from under years of "stuff." No telling what I might discover in my pack-rat accumulation and list on eBay! . . . So be sure to add me to your list of favorites.
