Luis Montiel- collectable tapestry- the largest in a private collection - $10,000 - (Palmyra, WI)

Up for sale is what is believed to be the largest Luis Monteil tapestry in North America. It is 106" w x 48"H - professionally mounted. It has been hanging out of the sun's reach and is in perfect condition. Luis Monteil, weaver of tapestry, in 1969 he presented his multi-colored carpets and tapestries at an exhibition by Maracaibo Fine Arts Center. In the mid 70's Monteil created the Mali - Mai workshop where he lived with a group of craftsmen who helped him with his work. His tapestries are beautifully shaped with a sense of composition and color. His works have traveled the world and his collections can be found in Venezuela, Brasil, Columbia, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany among others. Luis was born in 1914 and he passed in 1998.
