We are listing today for your consideration a great Antique late 19th century Mafra Portuguese Majolica Palissy Pottery Wall Hanging Plate with 3 fish, 1 eel, 2 clam shells, and another shell. This plate is in Excellent Condition with a small nick to the top of 1 clam on one side only, a small chip to the top of the other clam shell on one side only and a glaze flake on the base to the right of the mark. There is a manufactured surface split to the back bottom of the center fish. There are no other chips, cracks, and or repairs. There is crazing in areas, and most likely there are some very small losses to the shredded clay. You can refer to the pictures, we guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition, especially given it's age and all the shredded clay. The plate measures 10 1/4" in diameter x 3 1/4" tall x 6 1/2" at the footed base and weighs approximately 4lb 12oz. The base is marked with the impressed Mafra mark along with an impressed 5. There are 2 factory holes in the footed base for hanging. Exceptional blended glaze colors throughout and great lifelike hand formed fish, eel, and shells.
