Price Reduced. Gorgeous 24" Simon Halbig Antique Bisque Head Doll - $279 - (Sikeston, MO)
This 1878 Antique bisque doll is extra special. Her markings clearly show SH 1079 DEP. She is a fine quality bisque socket head with no cracks, she has beautiful deep hazel fixed eyes. Her body is in very good condition with a few scrapes and bumps. Not perfection, but good for her age. There is a possibility that the body was repainted at sometime in her past, as a light pink shows from under the scrapes. Please look carefully at the pictures and decide for yourself. Someone really loved this doll, as her intricate vintage outfit is handmade and hand sewn out of rose colored acetate silk. Her skirt is deep black. It is also hand beaded! Look at the picture of her bodice. You will see tiny hand stitching of rows and rows of pleats. The whole outfit is of this same quality. Please note the one flaw in her outfit, a small row of black seed beads needs to be replaced on the bottom of her bodice. Included is her vintage chimese, matching long slip with crocheted cotton lace trim, and pantaloons. All are slightly discolored due to their age. Black socks, black shoes and a beautiful human hair wig, included, are all replacements, She has pierced ears with vintage pale yellow glass earrings. Imagine a festive night in the 1800's. The School Marm enters the ballroom at the governors mansion. Her glamorous transformation turns all heads in her direction. What a special young lady she will be for your collection. Book value $1,000. Insurance included in shipping price.
