This Windsor style chair is a miniature version of the chair owned by Oliver Goldsmith which is at the Victorian & Albert Museum in London England. Oliver Goldsmith (1728 - 1774) was a poet and playwright best known for his Victorian era novel The Vicar of Wakefield. This tiny silver chair was made by Levi & Salaman in Birmingham England circa 1911. The chair is marked with their registered design number on the back of the crest rail and STERLING on the front, the supports for the arms are marked Goldsmith on the left side and 1728 - 1774 on the right. We actually found this exact chair on the internet and it was marked with Levi & Salaman. The chair measures 2 1/8" in height and almost 1 3/8" in width. A nice design and an interesting background make this tiny chair a unique collectible fit for any miniature silver collection!
