Frame size: 12" x 15"Provenance: Private Collection, New YorkAbout the artist: "Ceil Rosenberg was born Celia Surkin in Chicago in 1907. She was a child prodigy who finished high school at the age of 13. Rosenberg first studied art at at Hull House in Chicago and then privately with the artists Todros Geller and A. Raymond Katz. Later, she studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Rosenberg worked for the WPA and her painting “Winter Scene” was selected for the cover of the 1997 book “A New Deal for the Arts”, published by the National Archives, Washington, D.C.
