ANTIQUE LEATHER BOOK BINDING EMBOSSING PUNCH WITH WOOD HANDLE FOR GOLD LEAF/ GILDING & EMBOSSING ENGRAVING LEATHER LOVELY PATTERN This tool is for relief stamping borders or other patterns onto leather. The wheel is brass with a raised pattern on its rolling edge. The wheel is attached to a wooden handle Gilding was often used as decoration on book covers or picture frames in the past and gives a look of richness to objects. When applied to finely detailed, carved leather the effect can be quite striking. Measures approx 8 ½ " long. Pattern width is 3/4" cross. A treasure for your collection & or use.
