Up for sale ... Wonderful combination of artwork & framing! Beautiful Claudia & Carroll Hopf (husband & wife) Scherenschnitte. The Hopf's art studio is currently located in Kennebunkport, ME. This features two young ladies sitting in a field of tulips under some trees. Very much so in the school of PA Dutch German Art. SCHERENSCHNITTE is the art of painted paper cut work. The art tradition was founded in Switzerland and Germany in the 16th century and was brought to Colonial America in the 18th century by Dutch immigrants who settled primarily in Pennsylvania. This is signed & framed in one of Carroll's fabulous intricately hand painted frames. This measures approx. 20.5" x 17". Wonderful condition no nicks or scratches on the frame and art in perfect condition.? This artwork will be professionally packed to ensure safest delivery.
