1989 GIBSON 56 LES PAUL REISSUE GOLDTOP ELECTRIC GUITAR (29 Years Old) This instrument was professionally used and maintained as a back up instrument and had very little use by the lead guitar musician/me. Gibson made this vintage model as a collector's guitar from 1983 to 1991. This instrument was purchased and handcrafted in 1989 and is a "Standard Les Paul Reissue" of the infamous 1956 Les Paul Gold top model with soap bar P-100 pickups. These pick-ups are a factory designed upgrade from the P-90's that had a humming/grounding issue... especially when stacked with large stage amplifiers (Marshals) warranting Gibson's response to install newly wrapped P-100's to offset that problem. These pickups are fat and ripping very adaptable to hard rock and sustained blues. The instrument weighs a very comfortable 9.2 pounds and the neck feels and plays great... no wear on the frets or signs anywhere on the instrument of any player's rash! Collect it or bring it on stage and let it loose... this ax has a beautiful aged patina and will not disappoint... She will be sorely missed.
