This book has NO cutouts, NO torn or missing pages and NO musty smell inside (unless otherwise noted in the description below). !* This is the earliest year for which Frank Zappa appears in a high school yearbook, from the 1955-56 school year. Based on a variety of sources, he was in his very first musical group called the Ramblers and the pianist from the Ramblers (Stewart Congden) is shown in this book as a Junior. Frank appears in TWO great early photos!! The first shows him in the Orchestra sitting at the drums (his name is clearly labelled). The second is as a member of the Beachcomber (probably school newspaper) staff, again where he is clear and his name is in the caption. For both of these photos we have printed his name over his photo (this does NOT appear on the photos in the book.) The book itself is in excellent collectible condition (with only the slightest wear to the cover, some age toning on the front and rear inside covers and facing pages) with a few normal inscriptions neatly written and the pages retaining their original gloss. There are no markings on or near his photos in the book. If you want, what are probably the earliest "published" photos of Frank Zappa, this yearbook is IT. He changed schools for the 56-57 and 57-58 school years to Antelope Valley and ultimately was given a diploma from Antelope Valley, which is where he met Don Vliet and moved on to the Blackouts etc. There is some disagreement over whether there was any crossover between the Ramblers and the Blackouts and supposedly Frank was ejected from the Ramblers because he couldn't keep an even beat on the kick drum, and thus people couldn't dance properly to their music.
