Ideal 1930's 17" Shirley Temple Compo Doll Very Sweet! - $80 - (Rochester, IN)
Here we have for your consideration a very nice 1930's Shirley Temple composition doll. She was acquired at a recent estate sale and we don't know much about her. On her back it says “Shirley Temple 17.” It also says “Shirley Temple” under her wig in back, and under that we believe it says “Ideal”, but it is hard to make out. Her sleep eyes work well, but the eyes themselves have some age related deterioration. The wig is original mohair with the original ribbon. She has a slightly open mouth with 6 teeth. Her body has overall crazing and her face has some crazing around the eyes. On her right side of her head under her wig there is a place where the compo is raised. See last photo. Her outfit is vintage but there are no tags. We love the little drum major boots! Please refer to the photos for the best determination of condition. Photographer's note: On the right side of her head as you face her, you will see an area that appears discolored. This is just a shadow/reflection from the wig.
