Vtg 1950s Fleet Line "Sea Wolf " Battery Speedboat - Runs Great + Lights w/box - $299 - (Champaign, IL)
Hello - here is an item from a local estate - everything from this estate is VERY NICE - and this boat is also VERY NICE. It is a Fleet Line item - specifically - "Sea Wolf". Requires 4 "D" cell batteries to operate. I bought 4 brand new ones to test it. I put in 2 and tested the running lights - they both came on (right away) - - so - I was hoping the little motor would also work. I put in the third and fourth batteries and pushed the lever to the front. HOLY COW - the darn thing practically jumped out of my hand!!!! VERY POWERFUL - quiet running - lot of thrust. I did not test in a bath tub - but it should work well for you if you wish to actually use it on a pond, etc. As the photos show - nice detail - all cleats, foot pads, horn array, hand rails, wind shield (complete) are present - not bent - and in remarkably fine condition. The hatch door fits as designed and those handrails are also straight and in minty condition. The fiberglass hull shows minimal wear and tear - some red paint is missing from the bottom line of the hull. Also - some minor scratches on one side. Both of these are shown in the photos. The decal on the back is MINTY - also the propeller and rudder are minty - with no sign of abuse or repair. The steering wheel turns but does not really do anything. The 2 levers engage nicely and can be "locked" into place or easily "unlocked". There is minor staining on the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel. The box is in the "Fine" range. All flaps are present - no tears, no rips, and no taping is seen. The colors and cardboard are slightly faded. Study the photos (12 of them) and decide if this is the one you need. If you need more photos and/or information - let me know as I am retired and usually hanging out on the Internet. - Bill in Illinois Lot "DB".
