LENA Start Marathon County - N.A. - (Wausau, WI)
The 1st 3 years of a child's life are vital to brain development and exposure to talk is 1 of the most important factors. The LENA System measures the early language environment of children ages birth to 32 mnths. A LENA "talk pedometer" measures the number of words spoken to children. Each week, parents and caregivers will receive a printed report and learn helpful Talking Tips to improve the quality and quantity of talk with the child. LENA Start sessions will then run for thirteen weeks at the library's Wausau Headquarters on Monday mornings or Thursday evenings. Sessions are free, but registration is required (see below). Free childcare will be provided for all LENA Start families. A free book for your child will be given at each session attended.
