Vintage Pink Celluloid Bakelite Sewing Thread Holder Caddy - $35 - (Nooksack, WA)

Here is a vintage Pink Wedding Cake shaped thread holder and storage caddy from the 1950's. It is made of Pink celluloid plastic with a pretty embossed floral design and clear lucite. The measurements are approximately 5.50" tall and nearly 8.50" wide. The lid/top has a spot measuring 2.25" in diameter for your pincushion. If you remove the lid there is a storage area measuring 5.50" across and nearly 2.75" deep. Remove the ring to access the bottom compartment capable of holding 16 spools of thread. There is a corresponding hole next to each peg to slip the thread through for easy access. The entire thing sits on a base that allows it to spin. The thread spool holders are for spools measuring 1" diameter and up to 1.25" high. This is a used item, therefore, it will show normal wear and tear from its age. What appears to be a chip from the middle ring is not. See photo #10. I researched and found others like this that have the same bit missing. It is to feed thread through. No major defects that I can see, however the clear lucite has yellowed from age, and the Pink has some fading and discoloration, these are both normal for the age.
