Some of our books may have the usual creasing in the binding from being held open to read and some may have some graying on outer rims from storage, initials on inside cover, stamps on inside. We buy our items from flea markets, thrift shops, yard sales, etc. So we can't guarantee they don't smell like smoke. I do wash each book with a Lysol Wipe.
