VICTORIAN EDWARDIAN STERLING SILVER HAND PAINTED PORTRAIT BROOCH PIN PLAQUE - $725 - (Middletown, DE)

This lovely Victorian/Edwardian miniature portrait of a beauty is hand painted on porcelain and encased in sterling silver and thick concave glass. There is a pin back but it is too heavy to actually wear as a brooch. The slim tubular bale at the top allows the plaque to be strung with wire and hung on a wall. As with most bespoke silversmith items of the period, the sterling is unmarked but tests 100% at .925 and weighs 81 grams. Excellent condition. Oval shape. Measures 4" x 3.75".
